Get Involved on #GivingTuesday!

We’re excited to announce our plans for #GivingTuesday! Launching in the UK for the first time on 2 December 2014, #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving and it doesn’t necessarily mean in terms of money. There are lots of ways people or companies can give to others, they can give their time, their expertise, their voice, and yes they can make a donation too.

Our #GivingTuesday Theme

One of the most undervalued gifts of all is a smile yet it gives us the power to bring happiness to other human beings, to reflect happiness and to show happiness. Smiling is a universal language. The many people that Facial Palsy UK support are probably the least likely people of all to take a smile for granted.

For many a smile is easy, but for people with facial palsy it can be the hardest thing to do.

Can you imagine having to stop and think before you smile? What about if you had to think of other ways to demonstrate whether you are happy or not? What if people kept telling you to cheer up because you couldn’t wear your happiness on your face?

Can you imagine living without your smile?

As part of #GivingTuesday UK we would like you to participate in acts of kindness, big or small, to make people smile and in doing so raise awareness of facial palsy and the potential loss of a smile.
