Birth Trauma
Facial palsy can be a result of birth trauma, this is where there is a physical injury to the facial nerve sustained during delivery of a baby.
Head Trauma
Skull fracture to the temporal bone (through which the facial nerve travels) is responsible for causing facial palsy. The nerve can get crushed either by a blow to the head, or the swelling afterwards.
