There are all kinds of ways in which you can raise funds to support Facial Palsy UK’s work. Whether you have limited time to spare or want to fundraise all year round, we will be very glad of your support. Every penny makes a difference.

A
Afternoon tea – Host a tea or coffee afternoon with nibbles and cakes. Don’t forget to ask your friends for donations.
Auction – This can be a really fun way to raise funds, variations can include Dutch auction, silent auction, auction of promises or you can raise funds via eBay for charity.
B
Bake sale – Why not serve up goodies to friends & colleagues in return for a donation? Our Face UP! Bake Sale page has handy information and downloads to get you started. Find out more.
Bike – Set up a sponsored bike ride with friends and family – there are some great long distance routes to follow around the UK.
Bingo – Fancy organising a bingo event in your local community but not sure where to start? Read Darcy’s ‘How to organise a Family Bingo event’ which is packed with all the information you need to know. Find out more.
Birthday – Fundraising coffee morning. Instead of receiving presents or money for your birthday, ask people to donate to Facial Palsy UK instead. This is very easy to do via Facebook.
Bring & Buy sale – Having a clear out? Why not give your pre-loved items a new home or give someone else’s a new lease of life by hosting a Bring & Buy sale.

Car boot sale – Get a pitch at a car boot sale to sell your unwanted items and donate the income to Facial Palsy UK.
Cheese and wine night – Host an evening in with friends and get them to donate what they would have spent on a night out.
Christmas – Have a Christmas jumper day at school or work, sell mince pies and other festive treats.
Church – Some churches have retiring collections for charities, if you attend church ask them if they would consider supporting Facial Palsy UK.
Clothes swap – Invite people to bring their unwanted clothes to your Swap Party. Ask everyone to bring something they don’t wear anymore and pay £2 for each garment they take away. Time for an old but new outfit!
Coffee morning – Have a get together with friends and family, and ask for donations in return for delicious drinks and biscuits or cake.

Dress down day – Organise a dress down day at work and get your colleagues to make a small donation to Facial Palsy UK.

eBay – Sell your unwanted items online using eBay. Just click the button when listing to donate money directly to charity. Find out more.
Easter egg hunt – Use the fun seasonal events throughout the year as a great way to help raise vital funds!
Easy Fundraising – Similar to Amazon Smile and Give as you Live, Easy Fundraising turns your everyday online shopping into free donations for Facial Palsy UK. Find out more.

Five-a-side football – Charge teams to enter the match or encourage donations from spectators.
Fit Fridays – Form a group with your colleagues and every Friday decide on a different exercise to do on your lunch break. Ask for a small donation to take part.

Give as you Live – Similar to Easy Fundraising, sign up for Give as you Live and then every time you buy from a partner store online, they will donate a small percentage to Facial Palsy UK at no extra cost to you. Find out more.
Give up – Abstain from something you love for a month, chocolate and alcohol spring to mind! Ask people to sponsor you.
Grow – Have a sponsored grow your beard or moustache for a month and share photos of your progress.

Half beard challenge – Wear a half beard for a week or month and ask people to sponsor you to support the work of Facial Palsy UK.
Half makeup challenge – Wear half makeup for a week or month and ask people to sponsor you to support the work of Facial Palsy UK.
Head shave – Brave the shave to raise money to support the work of Facial Palsy UK.
Healthy living month – Take steps to improve your health, e.g. a 5k run, 10,000 steps a day.
I
International evening – Host an international evening, show off your travels, host a fun travel themed quiz, encourage people to dress for the occasion or bring food and charge a small entry fee.
J
Jamboree – Cook up all the scrummy summer fruit and make it into jam and/or chutney to sell! You could also have a competition for best chef.
K
Karaoke – Host a karaoke night or talent show.
Knit – Make some cosy items to sell. Challenge your friends to a competitive knit-off!
L
Link up – host a link up event with another department at work, think speed dating with a twist! Get to know people from other departments, offer cakes and drinks in return for donations.
Litter pick – hold a sponsored Face UP! litter pick, clean up your community and raise funds to support Facial Palsy UK’s work at the same time.

M
Make and do night – Decide on some products to make such as jewellery, soap or greetings cards. Invite your friends and ask for donations to join in. Add some wine and snacks and have a lovely social evening getting creative.
Mexican night – Cook up some tacos, fajitas or nachos for your friends and ask for donations in return. Don’t forget a Piñata!

Name the teddy – Charge your friends to come up with the most interesting suggestion for a cute cuddly toy. You could raffle the teddy at the end too.
O
Office collections – ask your employer if you can organisation a collection for Facial Palsy UK at work.
Office Olympics – Get your colleagues involved in an energetic team day, charge teams for entry with a prize for the winner.
Old clothes – sell your old clothes on eBay and make us your nominated charity.
P
Pamper party – Instead of going to the Spa, invite your friends round for an in-house pamper and donate your savings.
Plant sale – Ask people to bring plants and seeds from their own gardens for a plant sale and collect donations for Facial Palsy UK.
Pyjama day – Ask people to sponsor you to wear your pyjamas to work and get others to join in.
Q
Quiz night – Pub quiz nights and Mr and Mrs style quizzes are always popular. If you don’t have a venue, why not create quiz sheets where people buy a sheet and have a week to answer as many questions as possible before handing it in to see who’s won. If you want to make answers less easy to Google ask questions like ‘anagrams’, or ‘guess the logo’. Find out more.
R
Raffles – Hold a raffle as part of a larger event or as a one-off. Find out how to keep your raffle legal.
Readathon – Set a time-frame, choose your books and ask people to sponsor you to read as much as you can! Reading should be fun so don’t forget this can include reading anything from books, comics and magazines, to recipes, websites or TV guides!
Running – whether you fancy a 10k, half or full marathon, running is a great way to keep fit, have fun and raise funds at the same time.

Sponsored silence – Tame the chatterbox in you and ask people to sponsor you to stay silent.
Sponsored sleepout or sleepover – Invite friends for a sponsored sleepout or sleepover, organise some fun games and everyone donates to take part. Don’t forget some prizes!
Sports Day – Challenge friends, family or work colleagues to an old-school style sports day with egg & spoon race, tug of war, and sack race. Charge teams to enter.
Summer picnic – Organise a picnic and put on some games to raise funds. Get everyone to bring something for the picnic and set up a treasure hunt, races etc. where people donate to take part.
Sweets in a jar – Guess the number of sweets in the jar is a quick and easy fundraiser.
T
Talent show – Put your own spin on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and host a talent show. You can charge tickets for people to watch.
Tough Mudder – A series of obstacle and mud runs that will push your physical and mental limits without the pressure of competition. It’s also lots of fun trying something new! Find out more.
Traditional activities – Hold a community tug of war, dragon boat race or teddy bears picnic. Get participants to pay an entry donation to take part.
Treasure hunt – Create a treasure hunt, with clues and challenges and see which of your friends can find the hidden treasure. Come up with some themed clues and charge per entrant or team.
U
University challenge competition – Hold your own version of this classic competition, you can make it fun and silly or very serious!
Unwanted gifts – Hold an unwanted gifts sale or sell them on eBay and choose Facial Palsy UK to benefit.
V
VIP – Host a VIP party and get everyone to dress up as their favourite celebrities and donate to take part.
W
Water Splash – Hold a Water Splash day, great to keep children (and dogs!) cool in the summer. Set up some slides, garden games, paddling pools, etc. and invite friends over to have some fun. Either ask people to donate in return for you hosting the day or make some cakes and lemonade to sell.
Work party – Use your annual summer/Christmas parties as a great way to raise extra funds.

X-box challenge – Ask kids into video games to give up their game station for a week for sponsorship or alternatively hold a gaming marathon for adults – how long can a team continuously play for?
Y
YES! Day – Have a 24-hour period where people pay to challenge you to things and you have to say YES! A great personal challenge to push you out of your comfort zone and try new things, as well as fundraise.
Youth fundraising/Youth groups – Why not suggest Facial Palsy UK for your local group’s next charity event?
Z
Zoom Bingo – Arrange a game of virtual bingo and ask people to donate to enter. Firstly, create your own cards on My Free Bingo Cards. You can create up to thirty cards and either print them off or send participants a link to play virtually. To call the numbers find an online bingo number generator on Google to have the numbers picked for you. You might need to get creative about prizes!
Zoom Quiz – Pick a quizmaster and conduct your very own pub quiz on Zoom. Ask for donations to enter. Again if you are not all in the same room prizes can be tricky but often people are happy just to be declared the winner!
Zoom Scavenger Hunt – Challenge family and friends to find items for points while the clock is ticking. Ask for donations to enter. There are lots of ideas for things to find if you Google ‘Zoom Scavenger Hunt ideas’.
