Dress code: There is no set dress code for the event. Please wear whatever clothes you feel comfortable in.
Who is attending?: Trustees, volunteers and employees of Facial Palsy UK; members of our Medical Advisory Board, beneficiaries and supporters. We envisage it to be mostly adults attending due to it being an evening event. Children are welcome to attend but it would be helpful if you could let us know beforehand.
Photographs: We would like to take photographs at the event to display on our website and will have media consent forms available. This isn’t a press event (as was the case with our launch) but there may be journalists/photographers present. If you have any concerns about photographs being taken please let us know. Photographs of clearly identifiable people will not be displayed on our website without the individual’s written consent.
About the event:
The event will include the chance to meet staff, volunteers, Medical Advisory Board members and Trustees, and discuss the work of the charity and contribute ideas. There will be a ‘Meet and Greet’ raffle on the night and we will also announce the winners of our Grand Prize Draw. Find out how to enter the Grand Prize Draw here. Tickets for the ‘Meet and Greet’ Raffle will be sold on the door to those who would like to participate.
Essential charity business will be attended to first, as set out in our governing document ‘the Articles of Association’ and then the social part of the evening will follow.
If anyone is unsure about where to come once you arrive at Guy’s Hospital, please let us know and we can arrange to meet you in the main reception area.
Space restrictions mean we can only accommodate a set number of guests, so please print the registration information emailed to you and bring it with you on the evening, or alternatively pull your ticket up using the Eventbrite app on your phone, if you reserved your tickets this way.
We very much hope you will take this opportunity to celebrate with us ‘our first year as a charity’ and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Proceeds from the Grand Prize Draw and Raffle will be put towards our Support Services Project which will deliver more local support groups, a telephone helpline and outreach support. We are very grateful to everyone who has supported us. As a very new charity we don’t have established income streams, and all contributions, big or small, make such a huge difference. Previously there were no other charities offering information and support specifically for people with facial palsy. Facial palsy affects the ability to smile and blink, people may have difficulty closing one or both eyes for sleep at night. Many people also have difficulties with eating and drinking. The simplest things can become difficult, such as kissing your children goodnight, acknowledging the friendly smile of a stranger, or eating without food spilling from your mouth. There is a huge unmet need for support and we are extremely grateful for all the help we have received from the contributors above and the volunteers who work so tirelessly for the charity.
We would also like to thank the following contributors who are helping with our AGM:
