Summer Olympics Challenge 2025

June 19, 2025

We would love you to join in with Facial Palsy UK’s ‘Summer Olympics Challenge’ during the school holidays this summer.

It’s really easy to take part!

  • Download a sponsorship form or ask a grown up to set up a JustGiving page for our ‘Summer Olympics’ event (or just choose Facial Palsy UK as your chosen charity)
  • Tell all of your friends and family about your Facial Palsy UK ‘Summer Olympics Challenge’.
  • Complete a new activity/challenge each week!
(You could challenge yourself to do it every day to see if you can get better at it!)
  • Keep track on our ‘Olympics Tracker’ sheet
  • Get your grown up to take some photos and send them to us – on social media or to support@facialpalsy.org.uk. We’ll share some of our favourites.
  • When you’ve finished, you can email us to let us know (and share your stats)!
We’ll send you a recipe to make your own Facial Palsy UK edible medal!
  • You can also download your Summer Olympics certificate and show it off to everyone to show how amazing you are for raising awareness for Facial Palsy UK.
Remember to take it into school in September for your awards assembly!

Activities

All of these activities should be supervised by an adult.

Paper plate discus

Decorate a paper plate (Facial Palsy UK style or your favourite colours). Have a go at throwing it as far as you can. Measure your best distance.

Paper plane

Decorate a sheet of A4 paper (Facial Palsy UK style or your favourite colours). Fold it into a aeroplane (use our guide or a youtube video if you don’t know how!) Measure your best distance.

Basketball

Make a basketball net out of something you have in your house – a washing basket, a bucket, a hula hoop tied to the washing line. See how many hoops you can score in a set amount of time (1 min, 5 mins, whatever you fancy!)

Ring toss

Create a ring toss game using bottles and paper plates – or anything else lying around that you think would work. See how many rings you can get on the bottles in a row!

Straw javelin

Tape 4 straws together to create your javelin. Throw it as far as you can

Balance beam

Create a balance beam with frog tape, or any coloured tape (in your garden, not on your beautiful floors in your house!). Make it as tricky as you like, and try to complete in the fastest time possible.
