The day I lost my smile

The day I lost my smile,
It did take a while,
To find myself,
To see myself.

My smile is out there,
Lost in the ether,
Hidden down beneath tears,
Far away wrapped in fears.

I am sorry my sweet smile,
You felt a need to go
You felt abandoned so,
You felt so low.

On your sweet return,
I promise to love you, more.
I promise to shine your light, slow.
I promise to use your love, and flow.

My sweet starry smile,
It may take a while,
Maybe the distance of the Nile,
But, I know you will smile back in.

My sweet magical smile,
I await your return,
To my beautiful face,
With patience and grace.

And so for now,
I smile inside in prayer.
I smile inside in faith.
I smile inside in love.
