March 12, 2020
We have been monitoring the situation with COVID-19 (coronavirus) and are aware of the change in status to pandemic. We are continuing to follow guidelines issued by the Government (https://www.gov.uk/government/topical-events/coronavirus-covid-19-uk-government-response). At present we have taken the decision to cancel the Liverpool (Cheshire & Mersey) and London support groups which were due to take place on 21 March. Future dates will be circulated as soon as we are able to resume meetings. Other groups may be cancelled, but as the situation is fluid we will make the decisions as and when we can. We ask all our lovely volunteers and attendees to take appropriate action and precautions as Public Health England and the NHS advise. We are currently reviewing what support we can offer in place of these groups but given our stretched capacity it will take some time.
We can’t offer individual medical advice. We suggest you seek advice on specific concerns about COVID-19 and your medical conditions from your doctor. These are the NHS guidelines for COVID-19 – https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/.
When planning to attend one of our support groups, please check our website just before you travel to ensure it is still taking place. Sometimes emails are missed and we want to ensure no one has a wasted journey. We appreciate your patience.
