Official Press Release from the Cabinet Office: An inspirational volunteer from Bristol who has fought life threatening injuries to help launch the Facial Palsy UK charity, is the winner of a new volunteering award, Prime Minister David Cameron has announced today.

Bethan Robertson-Smith’s work for the charity was today recognised by the Prime Minister David Cameron as she became the 88th Point of Light in the UK. The Points of Light Awards recognise outstanding individual volunteers, people who are making a change in their community and inspiring others.

Our first Facial Palsy UK Family Day is taking place at Knockhatch Adventure Park, on Saturday 13th September 2014, in Hailsham East Sussex, between 10:15am and 4pm. Family Days are for children affected by facial palsy, their parents and siblings.

The Moebius Research Trust will be hosting the first Moebius Syndrome and Facial Palsy Conference in the UK this coming autumn. The conference is open to anyone who has been affected by either condition.
