July 24, 2013

Runner Ollie Scott earlier this year at the Virgin London MarathonFacial Palsy UK still has some early bird places available for the Brighton Marathon 2014 which takes place on 6 April. The Brighton Marathon is the UK’s second largest marathon, only second to the Virgin London Marathon, and attracts 10,000 runners every year, a number which is continually increasing. Last year there were runners from over 45 nations and the IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) has awarded the Brighton Marathon Bronze Label Road Race status.

You can guarantee a place in the 2014 event by signing up for one of our charity places.

Why run for Facial Palsy UK?

We take the simplest things for granted in our everyday lives.  The ability to keep food in our mouth as we eat, the ability to close our eyes for sleep, the ability to kiss our loved ones, and the ability to laugh without fear of being ridiculed.  The condition facial palsy affects basic human function, yet many people with facial paralysis are left with little or no support.

Facial Palsy UK exists to ensure that every person in the UK affected by facial palsy is given access to the best information, treatment and support available.  We will also be supporting research into the various causes and treatments of facial palsy, which will have worldwide impact.  Funds raised are used for setting up support services, raising awareness, education and training, and research.

How do I book my place?

Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis. We ask for a registration fee of £50 (early bird offer of £40 for payments received before 1 September) and a pledge to raise a minimum of £500.

We will support you with your training and fundraising and you will receive a Facial Palsy UK running vest. We will also be there to support you on the day!
